Geoff McFather

Geoff McFather is a Virginia attorney who believes in helping individuals, couples, families, and businesses preserve a lasting legacy through highly personalized and comprehensive estate planning.

Geoff has been a valued resource for a growing number of individuals, couples, families and businesses who seek to plan for and protect that which is most important to them. Geoff is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia, having been admitted to the Virginia Bar in 1999.

Geoff has limited his practice to the important areas of Estate Planning and both Will and Trust Administration.

A graduate of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, Attorney McFather earned a BS degree in Physical Science. He also earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Golden Gate University’s Graduate School of Business and Finance in San Francisco, CA, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Public Policy from the Robertson School of Government at Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. Most importantly, Geoff earned his Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, VA.

In addition to his Estate Planning law practice, Geoff is a retired Navy Commander and Navy Pilot. Further, he has enjoyed professional positions with SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals, Electronic Data Systems, Hewlett Packard, and Anthem. His lively and exciting background enables Geoff to understand and appreciate the importance of properly structuring and helping his clients achieve their personal long-term estate planning goals.

Attorney McFather is a Member of Wealth Counsel, a national collaboration of estate planning attorneys with the singular focus of practice excellence. He is also a Member of the Virginia State Bar, the American Bar Association, and the Isle of Wight County Bar Association.
